Arcane Bloom’s newest single “My Collapsing Little Home” is out!
The Tim Burton-esque sound, the rain in the background, and almost ominous sounding instruments, namely guitar and other sound effects, as well as heavy drum parts set this release apart from all their previous work. Having listened to all available songs I have to say that this song is my favourite. Maybe it is my love for Burtons work, or the fact that the lyrics written by Leon, the vocalist, in one of their darker times of life, are quite relatable for anyone that has ever struggled with their mental health. But whatever it is one thing is clear: Their sound has evolved immensely, not to say that their previous work isn’t great, but this song makes it seems like they have teleported themselves into another dimension. Its instrumentals seem like a portal to world far away from ours, still just as broken, the almost manic laughing and screaming at the end driving this point home.
I, personally, feel like I am invited into the “other world” in Coraline, as the song starts with an introduction by singer Leon before their voice turns raspy and the tour starts. The guitars stand out immensely as the solos really support the vision of a crumpling fairy tale. This combined with the screams and drums make you feel the pain, the desperation, the chaos that it must have taken to create this song.
